Maya Chantout is a Syrian-Palestinian creative and artistic director based in Paris. A graduate of the prestigious Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, Maya grew up in a rich cultural environment with both of her parents being artists. Her childhood memories of Damascus, particularly its belle époque before the war, were steeped in painting, music, and poetry, which deeply shaped her creative vision.
Her designs draw inspiration from the glamour of 1970s icons and Arab femme fatales like Cher and Sherihan, key references that have shaped her work throughout her career. Maya channels her passion for Arab cinema into creating sensual, feminine clothing that reflects both her heritage and lifelong inspirations.
Maya’s professional journey includes stints at renowned fashion houses such as Hermès, Chloé, and Céline. In 2018, she won the LVMH Fashion Graduate Prize before founding her own label, marking the beginning of her independent creative vision.
